Aluminum wire
Aluminum wire has a low density compared with other metal wire. This makes it possible to reduce the coil weight and therefore increase the efficiency with which the components to be moved are accelerated. The use of aluminum wire significantly increases the sound quality of loudspeakers, for instance. Further applications include moving coils in headphones and induction hotplates.
FOERSTER test instruments are used for reliably testing aluminum wire for cracks and impurities using non-destructive eddy current:
DEFECTOMAT: The DEFECTOMAT product family is used for testing aluminum wire for point and transverse defects in the material. The optional Ferromat channel is used for detecting additional FE impurities.
DEFECTOMINI and fine wire coil: FOERSTER has developed the DEFECTOMINI sensors and fine wire coils for particularly fine wire. They can be used for testing wire with diameters as small as 0.1 mm.
CIRCOGRAPH: The CIRCOGRAPH test systems are used for reliably detecting longitudinal defects in and on the material by scanning the surface in a helical path without making contact using eddy current.
