The testing of hot wire places particular requirements on the systems as they have to work perfectly even at material temperatures of 1,200 °C. Test speeds of up to 120 m/s also have to be ensured. The FOERSTER test systems can be used for reliably detecting material defects in hot wire, such as undesirable roller imprints, even under extreme conditions.

DEFECTOMAT: The DEFECTOMAT product group can be used for the high precision testing of hot wire for point and transverse defects. The DEFECTOTHERM sensor system is attached for this purpose. Its thermal coils easily work at temperatures of up to 1,200 °C.
